Using Lilmod

Lilmod provides tools for practising modern Hebrew. The content may contain mistakes and is not a guarantee of fluency or a substitute for individual teaching. Please report corrections through Feedback.

Free and Pro

Free includes 250 starter words and grammar units 1–3. Pro opens the full vocabulary library and grammar course. A Lilmod account is required for a subscription so verified access can follow you across supported devices.

New Year seven-day Pro trial

New and existing Free learners with a verified account can start one seven-day Pro trial on the website. Current Pro subscribers, Pro gift recipients and owners do not need a trial. Claim by the end of 11 October 2026, Europe/London. Each accepted claim receives 168 hours from activation, shared across devices. Separate paid language packs are not included.

No payment details or payment-provider subscription are required to start. Nothing is charged automatically at expiry: choose a monthly or annual subscription through the website, or continue Free. Your progress, streak and saved words remain. The trial does not renew, restart on another device or require cancellation. An optional reminder email can be enabled or disabled in Profile. Trial availability is shown in the offer.

Choosing a subscription

Lilmod offers monthly and annual Pro subscriptions where checkout is available. The website currently lists £7.99 per month or £59.99 per year before any separately calculated tax. Apple and Google Play will show the price and currency that apply in your store before you buy. Check Pricing for website checkout availability and the app for store availability. The New Year offer is available to claim on the website. In-app trial signup and app-store purchasing are not part of this website launch.

Payment and renewal

Website purchases will be processed by Stripe Managed Payments. Purchases made inside the iOS or Android app will be processed by Apple or Google Play. Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew for the same period until cancelled, subject to the terms and price shown by the payment provider before purchase. Any price change that requires notice or consent will be handled under the provider’s rules and applicable law.

Managing or cancelling

Use Profile → Settings → unsubscribe. For website subscriptions, confirm your Lilmod username or email and password to cancel directly through Stripe. For store purchases, follow the link to Apple or Google Play and complete cancellation there. The website can also manage store purchases through their original store links. The confirmation email states your paid-through date; a separate email confirms when your account actually returns to Free. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Unless the provider or applicable law says otherwise, cancellation stops the next renewal and Pro access continues until the end of the period already paid for.

Refunds and access

Refund requests and withdrawal rights are handled under applicable law and the rules of the original payment provider. A refund, reversal, expiry, or unresolved payment may end Pro access. Downgrading keeps learning progress but locks material outside the free tier. Offline Pro access needs a refresh within seven days and cannot extend beyond the verified paid-through date or trial expiry.

Account linking

A verified app-store purchase is linked to the Lilmod account used when it was first bought. Restoring it requires that same Lilmod account; purchases are not automatically transferred between accounts or payment providers. Existing subscribers are directed to manage their subscription with its original provider so they do not buy duplicate access.

Deleting your account

Use Profile → Settings → delete account or the web deletion pathway. Deletion permanently removes account access and learning data and cancels website subscriptions. Apple and Google Play billing must be cancelled with the original store. Immediate deletion remains available, but ends access to any remaining paid time. Deletion does not automatically refund payments or waive statutory refund rights. We email you after deletion completes and describe the limited retention exceptions in the privacy notice.

Organisation classrooms · adult pilot

Classrooms are offered to adult ulpans by arrangement and are restricted to members aged 18 and over. An application does not create a paid plan. Each person uses their own verified Lilmod account and explicitly accepts membership. Administrators allocate roles and places; classroom links are invite-only and people outside the roster need approval and capacity.

Organisation-funded Pro is provided under an agreed upfront teaching-term agreement with manual renewal, using separate Stripe invoicing. Access starts only after full verified payment, the term start and allocation of a student seat or eligible staff place. Extra seats require approval and a separate prorated invoice. Removing a member releases capacity but does not automatically reduce the agreed price or create a refund. Refunds, disputes and partial refunds are handled under the agreement and applicable law. Language packs remain separate.

Organisation access does not cancel an existing personal subscription. Manage that subscription with its original provider if you no longer want it. Leaving one organisation cannot remove access funded independently by another organisation or a personal plan. Leaving a class alone does not release an organisation seat.

Materials, communication and records

Upload only material you are entitled to share with your organisation and classes. PDF, JPEG and Word files are limited to 25 MB each and 5 GB per organisation. Uploads require an available scanning service and must pass its checks; Word documents are converted to PDF; review the resulting layout before assigning them. PDFs are rewritten to repair recoverable structure problems and remove scripts, attachments, multimedia and external actions, including clickable external links. Signed PDFs and dynamic forms require an unsigned, static teaching copy. Encrypted PDFs are not accepted and JPEG metadata is removed. Shared materials stay in the organisation library when the uploader leaves or deletes their account. Replacements create versions; withdrawing material makes it unavailable.

Use classroom discussions and student–teacher conversations respectfully. Do not share passwords, payment details or content that infringes others’ rights. Teachers can moderate public discussions and restrict posting. Explicitly reported private messages may be reviewed by designated moderators as explained in the privacy notice. This release does not offer private messaging between students.

Homework submissions require a connection. Optional XP rankings are motivational practice totals, not verified assessments. At term end, organisation-funded Pro ends and students have 30 days of read-only classroom access. Term records are deleted after 12 months; an inactive organisation’s reusable library is deleted 12 months after its last paid term, with advance notice. Renewal does not extend old record retention. Vocabulary and examples include material from Wiktionary through Kaikki and from Tatoeba. Source and contributor information is available inside word cards. Existing attribution and licence notices continue to apply.
